Hello

DENTIST

It brings me so much joy to be a part of the wonderful team at I Love My Smile as their general dentist. It’s truly an honour to serve our patients and provide them with quality dental care. I graduated from the esteemed University of Pretoria in 2014 and have since pursued various courses in aesthetics. In 2017, I completed a post-graduate course in oral implantology.

My greatest passion is surgery, and I’m excited to explore opportunities for further growth and development in this area. You can find me outdoors when I’m not at work, enjoying nature and all its beauty. And if you see me smiling from ear to ear, it’s probably because of my four furry friends – I’m a total dog person!

WHAT DOES A DENTIST DO?

A general dentist is a fundamental provider of dental care services. Their primary responsibility is to diagnose, treat, and manage patients’ overall dental health needs. This includes performing procedures such as removing tooth decay, filling cavities, and repairing fractured teeth.

In addition to these treatments, general dentists also provide patients with comprehensive oral care advice and plans to help maintain and improve their smile. This may include suggestions for proper brushing and flossing techniques, recommendations for dental products, and advice on lifestyle habits that can impact oral health.

By seeking regular care from a general dentist, patients can ensure their dental health needs are adequately addressed and managed over time.

I have just had the most wonderful experience at I Love My Smile. Dr Cornel is the best dentist I have ever been to and at 70 years old, that is a lot of dentists. She fixed up all my problems and Jackie made the most beautiful teeth for the best smile ever. Thank you from Valerie.

As someone who truly hates dentists, this place changed my perspective! Such friendly staff and attention to detail. Thanks, I Love My Smile team!

When should I take my child to the dentist for their first check-up?

Once they have a full set of front teeth

This means the two front teeth and two bottom teeth. Which means it is relatively soon! We would recommend scheduling a yearly visit from 1 jr and upwards. Increasing the frequency with age.

What should I do if I knock my tooth out?

If the tooth is clean, try to put it back in and see a dentist immediately!

Hold the tooth by the crown and place it firmly back into the socket. Bite on a clean handkerchief for 15-20 minutes.

The tooth needs to be replaced ideally within 30 minutes, so seek dental attention promptly.

What is bruxism?

Grinding my teeth

Some people suffer from bruxism, or involuntary teeth grinding – and may not even know it. Ask your dentist for signs of bruxism and how you might treat it.
