UNDERSTANDING DENTAL FEES

We believe in transparency when it comes to your dental care and treatment costs. Here’s what you need to know about how our fees work:

 

Your Treatment & Costs

  • Our treatment plans are based on your dental health needs, not on what your medical aid covers.
  • It’s important to review and consent to both your treatment plan and the estimated costs before proceeding.
  • You have the right to accept or decline any recommended treatment. However, postponing or refusing treatment is done at your own risk.
  • Before starting any treatment, you’ll be asked to sign a consent form confirming both the treatment plan and cost estimate. If any changes to the treatment are necessary due to clinical conditions, we will inform you of the adjustments and costs before proceeding.
  • After your visit, you will receive an itemized account of the services provided. Please take a moment to review and understand the treatment you received.
  • You are responsible for payment of your account, including any amount not covered by your medical aid.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR MEDICAL AID COVERAGE

  • Your medical aid is a contract between you and your medical scheme—it is not an agreement between the scheme and your dentist.
  • Every medical aid has different benefits, limits, and conditions. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with your specific coverage.
  • We do not take responsibility for medical aid payments, and you remain responsible for settling your account in full.
  • Medical aid benefits are not the same as “Medical Aid Rates,” and dentists are not required to charge those rates.
